Parents and Professionals Enjoy Learning at Herb Hein's Presentation about his Growing G.R.E.E.N. InterActions Program
We were pleased with the mid-summer turn-out at Herb Hein's presentation of strategies he has developed for improving social behavior. Professionals and parents learned about the Growing G.R.E.E.N. InterActions Social Literacy Program and how it gets individuals to use language to guide their thoughts and actions, engage in self-control, methodically analyze social situations, set goals and make positive interaction choices with others on their Teams. Mark Wilson, MOT, OTR/L, and Sharon Criger, DPT of FITS (Functional Integrated Therapeutic Services) and their staff were wonderful hosts, providing refreshments and a comfortable space in one of their OT/PT gyms. Our social emotional learning program, Growing G.R.E.E.N. InterActions, is being integrated into the programming of ClubXcite, a San Diego mentoring and tutoring company for students with academic, social, emotional and behavioral challenges!
Club Xcite provides quality, innovative educational services for schools and families in San Diego County seeking personalized academic, social, emotional and behavioral solutions. Club Xcite loves our newly published social skills curriculum! They will be integrating the key concepts, worksheets and lessons from the Growing G.R.E.E.N. InterActions Social Literacy Program to use with all students in their Mindful Adventures Summer Camp. This specialized camp provides opportunities to learn and apply new social and emotional skills in fun and engaging outings with experienced social and executive functioning coaches. Read more…
After decades at our old office, we now are able to celebrate having enjoyed one year in our magnificent new one! Much gratitude to all our clients! We also thank all of our colleagues and friends who made our first Open House a great event. A lively crowd braved the rainy weather to join us for an evening of tasty food and champagne, great music by the folk duo Jeff & Herb and warm friendship. We were also very excited to announce our freshest new idea, the Growing G.R.E.E.N. Interactions Social Literacy Program. This groundbreaking program with its Interactive Toolbox has already brought profound improvements to clients in our private practice as well as the students in private school classrooms where it was initially developed. It has proven to be effective in getting the participants to act G.R.E.E.N.: Grateful, Respectful, Empathetic, Easygoing and Navigating. The San Diego Brian Injury Foundation will host its 16th annual Friendrasier on Saturday, September 24, 2016. Come enjoy a wonderful evening in a serene, natural setting with your friends of the Foundation. Art created by our own survivors will be featured along with live music, hors d’oeuvres, wine-tasting, a silent auction and shopping for unique gifts showcased by artists who are brain injury survivors. Also, an opportunity to star-gaze with members of the San Diego Astronomy Association will be provided. Music will be provided by Jeff & Herb.
